“Ted” Review

Ted: Created by Seth MacFarlane. With Seth MacFarlane, Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes. It’s 1993, and Ted the bear’s moment of fame has passed. He’s living back home with his best friend, John Bennett, and his family. While Ted may be a lousy influence on John, he’s a loyal pal who will go out on a limb for friendship. A prequel to the two movies, but due to the magic of streaming, is still just as raunchy and debased as the films were. Since the second movie was released in 2015 we’ve had three seasons of The Orville by...

The Silo Series Collection: Wool, Shift, Dust, and Silo Stories

In a ruined and hostile landscape, a community exists in a giant underground silo. Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full of rules and regulations, of secrets and lies. Jules is one of these people. She may well be the last. A collection of three books, then three short stories. The longer stories are fantastic and are a novel take on the end of society...

“Your Place or Mine” Review

Your Place or Mine: Directed by Aline Brosh McKenna. With Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher, Zoë Chao, Jesse Williams. Two long-distance best friends change each other’s lives when she decides to pursue a lifelong dream and he volunteers to keep an eye on her teenage son. A traditional romantic comedy that has little to offer in the way of surprises or unique elements, but delivers on the promise of two characters being apart both physically and emotionally at the beginning of the story and coming together by the end of the film. It’s sweet and sappy in all the ways you’d...

“Iron Man” Review

Iron Man: Directed by Jon Favreau. With Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow. After being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil. Watched it again due to TikTok bandwagoning, it’s still a great film with some great lines and it’s the birth of of something really beautiful. Buy On Amazon!

2023 Year in Review

I did this same thing a year ago, but here we are a full month after I intended to post this review from the prior year.  I enjoy doing this but there’s a heavy emotional load to doing them, so I put it off and this year particularly was difficult to get in the right headspace to make a post about the prior year. Why was that? Let’s take a look! In February of 2023 I had a stupid health scare that incentivized me to loose weight and get on track with doing some fitness stuff that I’ve always sorta intended...
