“RoboCop” Review

RoboCop: Directed by José Padilha. With Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish. In 2028 Detroit, when Alex Murphy, a loving husband, father and good cop, is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. Saw a couple clips of the film on the TikTok and remembered that I didn’t exactly hate the film but couldn’t remember much about it, so here we are, having watched it again, I now remember why I don’t remember much about it. It does best when it doesn’t lean on the...

“The Crew” Review

The Crew Video Game – A single-player and cooperative driving game that takes place throughout the United States, developed by Ivory Tower. I saw an announcement a few weeks ago that “The Crew” was immediately being delisted from all digital stores and was scheduled for shutdown on March 31, 2024.  I vaguely recalled owning the game and was able to find a copy of it on my Uplay account, but just recently saw I also had it on my xbox, which would have been a better experience for me, but only just barely.  It’s a great racing game with some...

“Gotham Knights” Review

Gotham Knights: Created by Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash, James Patrick Stoteraux. With Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Ziraili Robinson, Fallon Smythe. Bruce Wayne is murdered and his adopted son forges an alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies. As the city becomes more dangerous, these mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors, known as the Gotham Knights. Only lasted a single season on the tail end of the CW comic book infatuation in early 2023, “Gotham Knights” does what so many other Batman related properties have done, which is to immediately remove the caped crusader from the...

“What If…? Season 2” Review

What If…?: With Jeffrey Wright, Terri Douglas, Matthew Wood, Robin Atkin Downes. Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, leading the audience into uncharted territory. This is some of the best content from Marvel in the last few years, from the great music, to the fantastic action, to stories and new characters that are both captivating and have a strong future in the franchise. It’s a shame that the the best stuff is animated, but at least we’re getting great stuff still. Buy On Amazon!

“Upload Season 3” Review

Upload: Created by Greg Daniels. With Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson. A man is able to choose his own afterlife after his untimely death by having his consciousness uploaded into a virtual world. As he gets used to his new life and befriends his angel (real world handler), questions about his death arise. Continues it’s pattern of being a sophisticated show that’s not taking it’s core concept serious enough for my tastes, but has just enough wit and humor to keep me coming back for more. Tales from Dragon Precinct

“The Artifice Girl” Review

The Artifice Girl: Directed by Franklin Ritch. With Tatum Matthews, Lance Henriksen, Sinda Nichols, David Girard. A team of special agents discovers a revolutionary new computer program to bait and trap online predators. After teaming up with the program’s troubled developer, they soon find that the AI is rapidly advancing beyond its original purpose. There’s only three sets in this entire movie and only 5 or 6 actors with the entire thing being a talking head exercise in discussing exactly what the computer program is and just how much it’s capable of in three different time periods. It may sound...

Gryphon Precinct

Cliff’s End is rocked by the death of Lord Albin. His son takes over and institutes changes in how the Castle Guard is run: enforced retirements of older guards Pretty damn huge spoiler there for the previous book, but it is what it is, and what it is is a huge change in the dynamics of the world that the Castle Guard and their investigative forces. It’s a great wrench to throw into the story and leads to a perfectly enjoyable story that feels as fresh as the first book in the series. Buy On Amazon!
