Blood Music

In the tradition of the greatest cyberpunk novels, Blood Music explores the imminent destruction of mankind and the fear of mass destruction by technological ad The author of this passed back in November of 2022 and at the time I think I had read one or two of his books previously, but there were a whole truck load of people saying that this was one of his best works, which I’m not sure I entirely agree with. The concept is absolutely bonkers and super interesting, but the implementation of it feels like an undercooked pizza that would have been delicious...

Astral Genesis

Jonathan DeVane must assemble a rag-tag team of misfits in an attempt to stop a devastating attack on Earth by malevolent alien raiders called “Astrals“. Can DeVane and his pack of underdogs find salvation in each other, and overcome the demons of their sordid pasts long enough to save the world? I picked this up at a recent comic book convention based on a some of the promo art that was at the author’s table. I was able to get the book and a art card signed by him and his producer, which the card is going to live in...

My boy Odo lookin good in the sun light. Miles and his step mom, Charlotte. We’re cat sitting for a week, this is Stella Blue I tried setting up a light box studio thing in my garage, but could never get it to do exactly what I wanted. I do love tofu!  This is a new tofu press and it works great. This is the new an improved light box studio turnaround thing, it’s pretty dope.  What am I using it for? This thing finally gave up the ghost and I had to replace the bar AND the handle, it’s...

Arnold

Arnold: With Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron, Linda Hamilton, Danny DeVito. Follows the life of Arnold Schwarzenegger, from his days of lifting weights to his successes in Hollywood, his time serving as governor of California, and both the joys and volatility of his family life. Told in three parts, this is a glowing documentary mini series about the trials and triumphs of Arnold Schwarzenegger, as told by Arnold Schwarzenegger, with interviews of people that were close to him during his life. It doesn’t necessarily shy away from the negatives, but they’re clearly stated, not lingered on, then moved on from. All...

Dune: Part One

Dune: Part One: Directed by Denis Villeneuve. With Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa. A noble family becomes embroiled in a war for control over the galaxy’s most valuable asset while its heir becomes troubled by visions of a dark future. The internet had it for just $8, so why not, it’ll also get me ready for the second half of the story that’s due to be released later this year. It’s a perfectly fine movie, but the story is incomplete. Buy On Amazon!

Star Trek: Picard: Second Self

A thrilling untold adventure based on the acclaimed Star Trek: Picard TV series!Following the explosive events seen in season one of Star Trek: Picard, Raffi Musiker finds herself torn between returning to her old life as a Starfleet Intelligence officer or something a little more tame—teaching Following in the foot steps of most of the other “Star Trek: Picard” novels, this story doesn’t follow Picard at all, he’s more of a book end character and one of the supporting characters from the show are the main stars in the books. In this case it’s Raffi who gets the spotlight and...

Star Trek: Short Treks

Star Trek: Short Treks: Created by Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Michael Chabon, Kirsten Beyer, Akiva Goldsman. With Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jenette Goldstein. A series of stand-alone short films featuring characters and storylines from Star Trek: Discovery (2017). I had completely forgotten about these but saw them for $20 on Amazon and boy I’m happy I grabbed them. The shorts themselves are all pretty ok, ranging from pretty silly to pretty good, but what really makes them worth my time are the behind the scenes and interviews that go along with nearly all of them. The Flash

The Flash: Directed by Andy Muschietti. With Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon. Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future. Went to see this a second time with my wife and my previous feelings still stand, but man some of the CGI the film is just rough. Buy On Amazon!
