LEGO City Undercover
Originally released in 2012 as a Wii U exclusive, then released on other services in 2017, I bought it on Steam in 2019 for $3.99, then bought it again for the x-box for $7.99 in 2020. I actually played about an hour of it on PC but found the experience lacking, then played a couple hours of it in 2020 after I bought it using gift cards. I kept going back to it every few months to play another level or two, but every time I got back out to the main world I would get overloaded by all the activities and collectibles available to track down and would get distracted by something shiny off in the distance, so it’s taken me the better part of 4 years to play the game, which has to be some kind of record for me.
The game is enjoyable, if repetitive, but that’s to be expected for LEGO games, especially ones from 12 years ago before they really got their gaming legs. The X-box version had no major bugs or issues, but the camera would often feel like it was more in control of the game than I was. I’m done with the story portion of the game now and just have the ever elusive “100%” achievement to hunt after, so that’s what I’m going to be doing when I’m not playing Borderlands DLC or Helldivers 2 or going to the movies, or yard work or spending time with family or petting my cats.
