Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced on Steam
Originally released in 2009, with four DLC packs released in the following year, I distinctly remember buying and trying to play through the game and letting life get in the way and me purchasing the DLC for $5 each with the assumption that I would eventually get back to the game, but I never did. They released a “Game of the Year” edition that includes all the DLC and some quality of life improvements, the best of which is the POV slider, something that was fixable in the original if you installed some third party tools and didn’t ever go in or out of vehicles or aim down your weapon. The story is slim but the voice acting is fun and honestly if it weren’t for Claptrap, I’m not sure this game would have done as well as it did 15 years ago.
It’s hard to recommend this game, even the GOTY edition when the much superior Borlderlands 2 is sitting right there and the pretty ok Borderlands 3 is also just sitting there, looking a little overripe. If you want the entire Borderlands experience though, don’t play the original version of the game, play this one.
