X-Men: First Class

In the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik’s vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them.

I feels like ages ago, but I bought the 4k collection of the First Class movies and I’m finally getting around to watching them, and I had forgotten how good these films were, especially this first one. If I remember correctly, this came out right as Jennifer Lawrence was making it big and because her star was on the rise, Mystique was given a much larger role in the franchise than the character ever had in the comics. It worked out well for the movies she’s in, but it’s an interesting twist on the story that comic nerds like myself can complain about.
