Star Trek: The Next Generation: Shadows Have Offended

The USS Enterprise has been granted the simple but unavoidable honor of ferrying key guests to Betazed for a cultural ceremony. En route, sudden tragedy strikes a Federation science station on the isolated planet Kota, and Captain Jean-Luc Picard has no qualms sending William Riker, Data, and Chief If you were to tell me that this was based on an unaired script for a few episodes, I’d believe it. There’s three distinct stories going on, one on Batazed, one on a potential colony planet during a survey, and one tracking down some stolen goods. All three are decent stories, but the one...

The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films

The Go-Go Boys: The Inside Story of Cannon Films: Directed by Hilla Medalia. With Menahem Golan, Yoram Globus, Yehuda Barkan, Ram Globus. THE GO-GO BOYS: The Inside Story of Cannon Films is a documentary about two Israeli-born cousins, Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, who in pursuit of the American Dream turned the Hollywood power structure upside down, producing over 300 films and becoming the most powerful independent film company in the world. Up close and personal, the film examines the complex relationship between two contradictory personalities whose combined force fueled their success and eventual collapse. A much more positive look...

Plane

Plane: Directed by Jean-François Richet. With Gerard Butler, Mike Colter, Tony Goldwyn, Yoson An. A pilot finds himself caught in a war zone after he’s forced to land his commercial aircraft during a terrible storm. Some say that Gerald Butler has fallen into a cadence of making the same movies over and over again, but since they all seem to be ok in my book, I say good for him and I’m happy to see it. Plane was a predictable and unsurprising movie, but when you expect to have a good time and have an unsurprising good time, it’s still...

Zaccaria Pinball on Steam

Zaccaria Pinball brings you over 100 tables, including over 40 pinball tables officially licensed from Zaccaria. Zaccaria was founded by three brothers (Marino, Franco, & Natale) and was the 3rd largest manufacturer of pinball machines in the world (behind Bally & Williams). Played this on my xbox and I fear that I’m not in the target demographic for this type of video game at all. I find no joy in playing a vertical game on a horizontal screen, and pinball is downright boring to me. However, if you’re into pinball, this is a gorgeous game with what I hear is...

Sickness and Surgeries

Man I have had a doozy of a week.   Jury Summons for the middle of March! The timer button on my stove is now completely broken and it’s going to like $200 to fix the stupid thing, so it’s going to remain broken.  I’d rather buy a whole new stove with convection abilities than have to struggle along with this crap. Went to a softball game and ate too much stadium food and drank too many beers, it was a very fun event. I bought my wife flowers! My favorite and only mobile game is shutting down the mobile...

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Directed by Peyton Reed. With Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Walton Goggins. As Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past. We re-watched this before going to the latest one (Quantuumania). It’s still a fun movie with some fun stuff in it. Buy On Amazon!

Lexx

Lexx: Created by Jeffrey Hirschfield, Paul Donovan, Lex Gigeroff. With Brian Downey, Michael McManus, Jeffrey Hirschfield, Xenia Seeberg. A group of disparate fugitives from an interplanetary tyranny find themselves in control of a massively powerful starship. I really wanted to finish this, but I just couldnt’ get through the modified version of the show that came after the first few tv movies and they swapped out the main lead actress. Not that it was the actress that was the problem, but it was the writing that just changed course completely and went from a edgy unique science fiction to standard...

Hell Divers

More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers–men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need. When one of the remaining airships is damaged in an electrical storm, a Hell Diver team is deployed to a hostile zone...

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: Directed by Peyton Reed. With Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer. Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. I know you’ve seen reviews that knock this film, but honestly this was a fantastic movie that blew my socks off about 15 times. You really don’t need to know much about the character other than he’s named Ant-Man, they spell everything...

Fleishman Is in Trouble

Fleishman Is in Trouble: With Jesse Eisenberg, Claire Danes, Lizzy Caplan, Adam Brody. Toby Fleishman knew what to expect when he and his wife of almost 15 years separated: weekends and every other holiday with the kids, some residual bitterness, and the occasional moment of tension in their co-parenting negotiations. I honestly thought this was going to be crazier than what it ended up being, but there’s a ton of spoilers involved in talking about that situation, so if you haven’t seen it yet and you’re in the mood to really ruin your mood, watch the 8 episodes first, then...
