A time travel story in which dozens of temporal devices are used, but there’s no time travel, but there is time slowdowns? It’s an interesting and novel concept to me that lands better than the previous book, but doesn’t quite stick the landing with the ending, which is more of a “to be continued” than I like to see in full length novels. I enjoyed the ride, so I don’t have much to complain about, and the character progression from the first book in this series has been great, so if you have enjoyed the rest of the books, keep going!
