“Captain America: Brave New World” Review
We’re not necessarily back to the amazing level of story and effort that the original Captain America movie had, but we’re no where near the lows of recent MCU movies. There’s still some unfortunate CGI in the third act and a few scenes that look like they were filmed in both The Volume and a bluescreen at the same time, with odd visual edging around the villain and the hero whilst they monologued at each other. The movie is at it’s strongest when it’s just Captain America and his sidekick and honestly I would have been happier if it stayed in the world of men with guns and villains with evil plans, but it went to the obvious MCU route of having those evil plans result in a massive CGI fight in the last 20 minutes.
It’s going to be best seen in theaters, if only for the flight scenes, which the Rocketeer fan inside me loved every minute of.
