Avatar: The Way of Water

Avatar: The Way of Water: Directed by James Cameron. With Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang. Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the extrasolar moon Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their home.

This is a much better experience at home, where I have the technology that’s up to the task of showing whatever crazy framerate it is that this movie comes with. The local AMC was pretty bad at that particular task with all sorts of stuttering and framing issues.

As for the story, it’s too myopic for my tastes, following a single family that’s running from a hunter with shaky motivations at best. I still want to see what was happening on the wider planet, or even better what was happening back on Earth.
