Imagine if a comet was discovered in 2017, and it was sure to hit the planet. It’s big enough to end all life as we know it, but with a little luck and a little ingenuity, we might possibly, just maybe, save all of humanity.

Do you think we could have done it in 2017 with the leadership that the US was offering and the backstabbing that was coming from within? I have my doubts, but I also believe that we’d figure it out. The movie is slightly more cynical than I am about the proposal, but it’s still a great “what if” scenario that I hope to never see play out in my life time.
