Is this the best Star Wars show that Disney has done since their acquisition of the franchise? Quite possibly yes, with some small caveats: there are no Jedi, there are no Sith, just regular people getting all mixed up with the creeping bureaucratic horrors of the Empire, rebeling in their own small ways that add up to something more than the sum of their parts. Everything about the show works the way I’d want it to, the plot, the acting, and sets. This is the slow burn story that I’ve long wanted from Star Wars and I’m so happy to finally be getting it.
