A Minecraft Movie

Four misfits find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve.

I truly did not expect to enjoy this film as much as I did, fully expecting it to be just like every other video game adaptation: fully full of itself and missing the heart of what made the originating video game worth a movie adaptation. I was entertained from the opening scene until the final moments, and enjoyed how unseriously serious it was about it’s vision of the world that Steve came from.
