Best Buy had the 4k disc on sale for just $8 and this was one of my mom’s most favorite films, so I think I’m going to make a tradition of watching it every year. There’s really no good reason to upgrade your blu-ray copies if you have it in 1080p, because there’s not much about the 4k version that would make me say “oh wow this was so much worth the upgrade”. There’s a couple special features on the disks, the coolest one is a 30 year old documentary hosted by Angela Lansbury explaining how much of a mess the development and making of the film was with something like 5 directors and dozens of writers and creatives that all had input on the final output and it’s only by the grace of a nearly unlimited budget that the version they released was as good as it was.
