The Last Days on Mars
The Last Days on Mars: Directed by Ruairi Robinson. With Liev Schreiber, Elias Koteas, Romola Garai, Olivia Williams. A group of astronaut explorers succumb one by one to a mysterious and terrifying force while collecting specimens on Mars.
A movie that I had seen prior to my time of logging films and a great example of why I logged them now, aside from throwing Amazon Associate links on all the reviews and begging for comments from people that will never comment on movie reviews. I know I’ve seen it, I remember enjoying it, but having watching it again, I think I was thinking of another film in which they find life on Mars. I still enjoyed my time with “The Last Days on Mars”, and it’s a great Liev Schreiber film, but it’s not the one with technology on Mar, it’s the one with a bacterial infection that turns everyone into rage zombies. My one big complaint looking back on this film, made in 2013, is that a room full of scientists that think someone is infected with something don’t immediately mask up or try to quarantine themselves. In the halcyon days of 2013, it wasn’t public knowledge in the US that wearing a mask can protect you from various infections, with a reduction in risk of up to 65%!
I can forgive this singular issue though, as the rest of the film is on point and delivers on it’s promise of ending life on Mars, again.
