All Dogs Go to Heaven

All Dogs Go to Heaven: Directed by Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, Dan Kuenster. With Dom DeLuise, Burt Reynolds, Daryl Gilley, Candy Devine. A canine angel, Charlie, sneaks back to earth from heaven but ends up befriending an orphan girl who can speak to animals. In the process, Charlie learns that friendship is the most heavenly gift of all.

This is decidedly a non-disney film made in a time when Disney ruled animation with an iron fist. Because everyone knew this wasn’t Disney, they got away with some really dark stuff and some seriously adult topics.

Also, there’s a scene that I had completely forgotten about that reminded me a ton of the “I’m so Shiny” scene from Moana.
