My 9 year old media center is nine years old. I remember when I bought it, it wasn’t exactly top of the line, but it was a damn good computer, but it’s starting to be a little twitchy, so I might think about upgrading it to a laptop that’s only 5 years old. (ha!)
There’s a new cat in our house, temporarily, she’s fluffy and very very pregnant, originally one of our stray cats that we were feeding (why?) that will now be a guest of our kitchen until she has her kittens and we can get everyone fixed and adopted out to new and loving homes. Our previous foster fail has realized there’s a huge fish tank in the living room and is desperately wanting to play with the Plecostomus, who we swear is messing with her at every opportunity.
I took a trip to see some family and was given a book with with activities in it. If you ever have the need to entertain kids for 5 days straight, “Playing Preschool” is the thing you’re going to need. I legitimately ran out of time every day to do all the things that were planned out for them. You do need to purchase some supplies and get some books from the library, so keep in mind that the $70 charge for the books will likely turn into $200 real quick over the life of the lesson plans. Worth it IMHO.
I finally built the nano brick set that I bought for $40 at Clingmans Dome about eight months ago, it’s not a good set, but it’s pretty enough to display in our trip cabinet.
