Directed by Joseph Kosinski. With Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner. The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father’s corrupted creation and a unique ally who was born inside the digital world.
Hard to believe that it’s been a full ten years since this movie was released, I still watch it several times a year (at least three in 2020 alone!), and I feel it still hold up very well. I actually had no intention of watching the entire film, as I was trying to figure out some issues with my living room surround sound, and Tron: Legacy is one of the best films to have on whilst fiddling with surround sound issues due to it’s dynamic and constantly moving sound sources. Once I had everything fixed and I sat down, I got sucked back into The Grid and still teared up in the final confrontation.
Part of me is frustrated that this franchise hasn’t blown up, but with how perfect I feel this movie is, maybe it’s for the best.
