Directed by Steven Bognar, Julia Reichert. With Junming ‘Jimmy’ Wang, Robert Allen, Sherrod Brown, Dave Burrows. In post-industrial Ohio, a Chinese billionaire opens a factory in an abandoned General Motors plant, hiring two thousand Americans. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America.
Absolutely horrifying to hear Chinese executives complain about how American workers won’t work weekends and want to see their families. Also horrifying to see that kind of behavior is acceptable and straight up expected from their employees in mainland China.
QQ: if you have a job that you’re not permitted to leave from, is that a job or slavery? Is that was American companies are competing against?
