Directed by J.J. Abrams. With Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Leonard Nimoy. The brash James T. Kirk tries to live up to his father’s legacy with Mr. Spock keeping him in check as a vengeful Romulan from the future creates black holes to destroy the Federation one planet at a time.
As today’s the ten year anniversary of the release of the first JJ Abrahm Star Trek film, I figured I’d give it another watch. There’s a lot to like there and a few things to dislike, but let’s focus on the positives: they managed to get a new crew while respecting the old crew, the soundtrack was fantastic, and the actors were all at the top of their game.
