On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
This is the great Transformers movie that we’ve all been waiting for. It takes everything you loved to hate about the first 5 films and just slides it all into the dustbin, then treats your nostalgia with respect. John Cena is a bit too corny in his role and it’s high time that he does a serious movie that doesn’t have him being the funny guy in all his scenes, but other than him, I have nothing but love for this movie.
