First off, Tampa Bay Police had a visible presence at the show, which was amazing. I’ve had several comments about how much larger I am than they are, but I’m pretty sure they’re ready to rock and roll and my size would have presented no issues. side note, I’m pretty sure that one of the guys here made an Iron Man quote (no gangsigns!) that went right over my head until about 10 minutes later.
Immediately after that, I attended a panel with some fun cosplayers that had a bit to say about the industry an how to break into it, then I got a picture with them:
We attended several panels and had a couple pictures taken with celebrities, including Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, and John de Lancie. This process wasn’t the most fantastic, but it’s great that we were able to meet them for about 2 seconds and have a picture taken to commemorate walking past them, lol.
The panels were with Michael Dorn and Marina Sirtis, Peter Capaldi (The outgoing Doctor Who) and Pearl Mackie, John de Lance and Corbin Bernsen (Q and Q2), Sean Pertwee and David Mazouz, and the lovely Summer Glau. All the panels were interesting and enjoyable, Summer Glau was the final panel of our trip and she was fantasticly different than who I thought she was going to be.
Around all these panels, we visited LEGO displays in a room that were absolutely fantastic:
Nice sign telling people to ask and be nice to each other:
big empty room, we never saw it completely full, but the Doctor Who panel damn near tried:
We also bought a ton of art,
www.rebeccanipper.com/ Wife got a flower panting
www.amourableart.com/ Wife got a couple zelda things and we got a gift for friends that watched our dogs
www.wizyakuza.com/ I got two lenticular prints that are absolutely amazing, I’ve never seen any that were of this high quality, which is a shame considering how many comic books have had lenticular covers in the last couple years.
heatherhitchman.com/ a beautiful deer, no pictures of it just yet, but boy howdy, it’s amazing.
After the show was over, we had some good beers from The Tampa Bay Brewing Company:
On our way out of town, we visited the Florida Aquarium in Tampa and I took about 100 photos, but I’m about photoed out for this post, so here’s one picture of a tiny owl giving me an evil look:
